Messing about in GIMP I discovered the ability to make quick animations and saving them as animated GIFS. Playing about with this tool, I discovered that they make for a poor animated cartoon, but were quite good at making some very Y2K aesthetic album art covers. Wanting to use these for the blog, I struck upon the idea of making Illuminated Initials for my blog posts. I've saved them below, please feel free to use, creative commons etc.
In a written or published work, an initial capital is a letter at the beginning of a word, a chapter, or a paragraph that is larger than the rest of the text. An illluminated initial is an initial that contains an illustration.
